PORTLAND

So far we've spent two days hiking and looking at waterfalls! Oregon is beautiful and has lots of them, so it's been fun.
The pictures don't really do them justice though! You kind of had to be there.
Marty and Myrna went with us to Silver Falls. They also went to church with us Sunday and seemed to like it. The ward members were really friendly and are going to do some follow-up contacts.
We went to the Portland Temple before heading up the Columbia River Gorge to Multnomah Falls.
These falls were really impressive! We hiked the 1. 4 miles up to the top of the falls where there was quite a view of the Columbia River and the valley below.
This is the lodge at the bottom of the falls. We had lunch there before heading up the trail.
The river looks a lot like a lake. I would say it's at least a mile across! We saw a big barge carrying a load of wheat down it.

How pretty! That's kind of what it looks like where we are, minus the water falls. I'm glad you're enjoying Oregon, and I like your red coat!

The colors are beautiful here! Joey and Katie gave me the red jacket and it fits right in, Oregon style.
