KITCHEN REMODEL 3-12

Our kitchen remodel is officially underway! I think today was probably the worst, because the existing kitchen was totally demolished. Fortunately, they hung sheets of plastic in the doorways and between the kitchen and dining area so the mess was pretty much contained.
I was surprised by how much stuff we had in the kitchen. When it came time to move it all out to the garage, there were many boxes full! It's stacked all over in there now, along with the table and chairs, microwave, toaster, and refrigerator. The garage will be our kitchen for the next week and a half or so. I don't know if I'll lose weight because of the more difficult access to a kitchen, or gain weight because the only food in the house now is candy!
They weren't really planning to take out the entire ceiling, but they found that this will work better and be easier for them. They stowed all the insulation in plastic bags for reuse when the job is done. We're going to have recessed lights in the ceiling, rather than the old fluorescent lights we had previously.

Here's where the sink was before.

These pictures are so we can have dramatic before and after documentation, like Carly does!

Wow! That space is barely recognizable. I can't believe you guys are really doing it! I'm so excited to see the finished product!

I was wondering how the progress was coming. I'm glad you're getting recessed lights! That's the only thing I remember from my interior design class at BYU...

I'm excited to see the "after" pictures!
